Casting

The aim with casting was to find a black female vocalist and a white male vocalist. In addition to this, we needed to cast a male and female who would play the couple for our narrative plot. We thought it would be most convenient and wise to utilise group members and close friends as we would all already be comfortable with each other and everyone would be able to commit more the project.

Louis Caldwell
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Height: 6ft 2"
Role: Boyfriend

Louis fits the archetype of a boyfriend with his significant height and good looks. He is part of the our group and so can commit a lot of time to filming both inside and outside of school. In addition to this, Louis is in a real relationship with Gina, our actress of choice for his girlfriend in the narrative.
We cast Louis for various reasons:







Gina Corrieri
Age: 18
Height: 5ft 6"
Gender: Female
Role: Girlfriend

At 5ft 6", Gina is much shorter than Louis, sticking to the stereotypical image of a couple where the female is shorter than the male. Although not in our group, Gina is a close friend of all of us and is in a relationship with Louis, allowing her to easily convey a genuine looking relationship via her acting. In addition, she as acting experience and so should have no trouble successfully playing her role.






Joshua Brooks
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Height: 6ft 1"
Role: NTLS male band member

Josh fits the role of a white male vocalist perfectly due to his obvious physical traits and the fact that his character's voice syncs well with Josh's appearance. Most importantly, Josh is a group member allowing him to dedicate a lot of time to the rather demanding studio shoots.










Vivian Oparah
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Height: 5ft 8"
Role: NTLS female band member


Vivian fits the role of a black female vocalist perfectly as well. Although her character's voice doesn't sync as well as Josh's, Vivian possesses a lot of acting experience that will enable her to give a genuinely convincing performance nonetheless.
